The maxi dress has gone from strength to strength these previous couple of years and has made the victorious jump from a summer must-have to autumnal necessary wear, evolving with long sleeves and exploiting the layered look. But at what point did our love for the maxi start? It appears to have held a special place in our hearts and wardrobes for such a long time ; can anybody remember when the maxi was not a necessary?
